Adventure in Turkey

Well for a bit a change a gang of us decided to go sports climbing in Turkey and a change is what we got....

Its an amazing place. Blue skies, sunshine & warm weather... ahem at least that is what we expected... thunderstorms & rain .... in fact a 36 hour thunder storm was closer to the truth.

Nevertheless we had a great time. We stayed in a little campsite, buried underneath a pommegranate garden, overlooking the main crag. The climbing is mainly situated beside small town, Geyikbiryiri (of course I can't spell it), near Antalya. But there is more climbing about 2 hours south near Olympus.
The climbing is sharp and only newly developed, but nevertheless it is great with a wide variety.

Driving was certainly a highlight of the trip. Lets say the Turkey appear only to use the rules of the road (if they even exist) as a mere guideline. Indictors are a luxury and should only be used when absolutely necessary. Ramps are for overtaking on, they give you that added lift when travelling fast. Lanes on road show the minimum number of lanes, not the maximum number... Traffic lights are a free for all at night, and well pretty much the same during the day.
